Email to the Florida Governor

I have as of a few minutes ago, emailed the governor of the state of Florida. Here is what I said:
"Governor Scott,
I remember watching all the insanity with Casey Anthony and I remember thinking, "Oh my gosh, she sounds just like J**." As it stands, I will be fifteen in December, and I will not let myself end up like Caylee. In this state, as a minor, in a custody battle, I cannot speak to the judge, unless they request to speak to me, which this judge wants no part in. It is, at this point in time, looking like there is a chance I could be placed in the hands of an abuser, who is not my biological father, he adopted me when I was seven, which I had little to no say in, and it's a piece of paper to me. Help me.

I won't be silent!

I'm here to talk about something that very few people are actually willing to talk about, because I'm tired of being quite, and I'm tired of not being heard. When I was younger, my mom married her (now) ex husband. He was never home, as he was in the Navy, and when he was, he told me I got to spend all the time with mom and that I needed to go to my room. As I got older, the less he cared about arguing with her in front of me. I watched him physically abuse my mom. Now that my mom and he are divorced, he's trying to say that he needs to have custody of me, and the state I live in, I don't get the option to talk to my judge unless they request to speak to me, and this judge wants no part in that. I've known since the very beginning that this battle is not even about me. He doesn't care about me, but he knows that there is no longer a way for him to hurt my mom, unless through me. I have a strong story, I just need to have enough people to listen. I'm willing to share it with you, but it is NOT a sweet and lovely story. It's dark and scary for any child to go through.

I am begging you, please sign and share. Domestic violence, especially of children, is not something people like to talk about, but we have to make noise! Nothing is going to change in our corrupt system here in the States, if no one is willing to talk about it. I'm talking, are you?
